Clinical studies an integral part of healthcare
Our vision is to have clinical studies an integral part of healthcare. This creates the conditions for generating more knowledge, enabling more patients to participate in studies and, in the long run, providing better healthcare and general health.
National entry point for support to conduct clinical studies
Clinical Studies Sweden offers a national entry point for support and contact to conduct clinical studies in Swedish healthcare. We coordinate study feasibilities, mediate contact with study centres and clinics, and provide research support and advice.
Developing effective solutions
Through competitive intelligence and dialogue with stakeholders within healthcare, academia, authorities and life science companies, we identify common national challenges and requirements. Via national working groups and projects, we collaborate to investigate issues and develop effective solutions within our various focus areas.
Increasing knowledge about clinical studies and their importance
We work to increase knowledge about clinical studies and their importance for healthcare. By improving the conditions for conducting clinical studies, we contribute to strengthening Sweden as a competitive and attractive country in which to conduct clinical studies.
Clinical Studies Sweden is a national collaboration between Sweden's six healthcare regions, supported by the Swedish Research Council. The healthcare regions have appointed coordination functions, so-called regional nodes for Clinical Studies Sweden. Together, the regional nodes constitute a common national research infrastructure that strengthens regional conditions for conducting clinical studies.
National collaboration takes place through working groups with different specialist skills, where the nodes share experiences, challenges and expertise and together develop tools and support within specific areas. We also run projects aiming at investigating or developing solutions to common national challenges.
The Swedish Research Council supports clinical studies
The Swedish Research Council contributes to supporting and developing Sweden's conditions for clinical studies. This is done by developing the national cooperation in the healthcare sector within the framework of Clinical Studies Sweden. The Swedish Research Council also collaborates with authorities and organisations and demonstrates the needs of clinical research through analyses, reports and statistics within the field.
The Swedish Research Council collaborates with various stakeholders to identify and find solutions to common needs and challenges within the life science field. This cooperation contributes to an exchange of information between different stakeholders and reduces the risk of duplicating efforts. The agency also contributes to raising awareness of Clinical Studies Sweden and the support offered by the regional nodes.
The Swedish Research Council promotes and facilitates the collaboration Clinical Studies Sweden. The council works to create long-term and stable conditions for collaboration, including through the allocation and follow-up of funds for research-supporting activities and projects.
