New supporting documents: How satellite sites can enable decentralisation of clinical studies
Clinical Studies Sweden started a project in the autumn of 2021 to find out how the satellite sites model can increase the availability of patients in Swedish healthcare to participate in clinical studies, while studies get a larger patient base and several parties can be involved. This work is now complete and has resulted in four new supporting documents. -
Coordinated Monitoring Saves Time, Money, and Carbon Dioxide
Monitoring a clinical research study often requires many long trips within and outside of Sweden. Therefore, in 2018, Clinical Studies Sweden initiated a development effort that marked the beginning of a new type of Coordinated Monitoring. With Coordinated Monitoring, a coordinating monitor receives assistance from colleagues across different regions. -

Clinical Studies Sweden’s clinical trial protocol template for medicinal products has been updated to a new version and is now available only in English. -
Successful regional research – due to luck or infrastructure?
Johan Styrke is a researcher and urology specialist at Sundsvall Hospital. Thanks to support from Clinical Studies Sweden among others, he is conducting decentralised research in urology in collaboration with colleagues at the Northern Healthcare Region.

Clinical Studies Sweden works continuously to facilitate the implementation of clinical studies within healthcare. Through competitive intelligence and dialogue with stakeholders in healthcare, academia, government and life science companies, we identify common national challenges and requirements - our focus areas. In working groups and projects, we then collaborate nationally to investigate issues and develop effective solutions in our various focus areas.
